We at St. Xavier’s High School, Kolhapur planned various events to commemorate the 500th year of closure ceremony of St. Ignatius the Founder of the Society of Jesus with full enthusiasm. The events were planned to celebrate “Ignatian Week” from 21st July,2022 to 29th July,2022. English Elocution Competition like Monologue, Role Play, Street Play, Humurous Dialogue, One act Play and Extempore were organized for Std V to X.
Students after two years of pandemic, proved themselves very confident and full of zeal. Maximum students participate and banned prizes. An extra event was planned to involve more students so as to bring more awareness about the importance of the Saint and so singing Competition, Chart making competition on Jesuit Values and Quiz Competition was held. Kids were eagerly reading the life of St. Ignatius to enhance their knowledge and were updating themselves with Jesuit Education over the world.
The programme was well planned under the able guidance of Principal Rev. Fr. Ratnakar, Vice Principal Rev. Fr. Andrew and Rev. Fr Vikram. Every event was a feather in the cup which added more beauty to the celebration. The main day was commomerated on 30th July, 2022 with a Special Assembly with various events, depicting the new things in the life of St. Ignatius of Loyola through Christ.
To mark this event in a very special way, A Triduum (Novena) was conducted wherein Teachers shared their reflection on the life of the Saint. Novena prayers brought more meaning to the celebration. Students were fed with extra information through reflection. The charm of the Assembly laid in Singing Ignatius March during the prayer services everyday with full Zeal and enthusiasm.
The staff members from Pre-Primary, Primary, Secondary and D.Ed. College participated.
We feel proud to share the news that the alumni of St. Xavier’s High school, Kolhapur, belonging to 92 batch, donated Savitribai Phule Hospital two units of phototherapy in memory of their companion late Gaurav Patil. This batch of alumni is known to rise promptly to any call of dire need during disasters and calamities.
१९ वर्षाची नाळ तुटली…२००२ मध्ये माझा मोठा मुलगा हिमांशू याला सेंट झेवियर्स स्कूल मध्ये admission घेतले, नंतर माझा छोटा मुलगा आर्यन याला सुद्धा २००९ मध्ये याच स्कूल मध्ये admission मिळाले..हिमांशू २०१४ मध्ये 10th मध्ये पास होऊन बाहेर पडला आणि आज छोटा आर्यन याचा 10th मधील send off झाला..मला दोन्ही मुलांना स्कूल मध्ये सोडायला आणि आणायला जायची खुप आवड..सेंट झेवियर्स चा कॅम्पस तर खुप छान तिथे जाऊन मुलांची वाट बघत बसणे आवडायचे..मुलांना स्कूल मध्ये सोडुन तसच कंपनी मध्ये जाणे हा माझा दिनक्रम गेली १९ वर्षे सुरू होता…. अखेर आज तो दिनक्रम संपला….कारण उद्यापासून मला सोडायला जावे लागणार नाही.सेंट झेवियर्स ने माझ्या दोन्ही मुलांना खुप छान घडवले….तेथील सर्व स्टाफ खुपच छान…गेली १९ वर्षे माझा या स्कूल शी खुप संपर्क राहिला …स्कूल मध्ये प्रत्येक इव्हेंट छान साजरे व्हायचे..त्यामुळे जरी आर्यन चा send off झाला ,तरी माझाच सेंड ऑफ झालेचे फिलिंग आहे…असे स्कूल लाईफ परत येणे नाही.. AIl three sections of St. Xavier’s institute, Kolhapur, consisting D.Ed. College, High School and Primary School assembled on 23rd morning in the High School quadrangle for a special Christmas celebration. Large number of parents and PTA representatives too witnessed the event. Primary school children presented a meaningful and very colorful skit on the birth of Jesus. The High School choir consisting many non-Christian students trained by Ms. Jai, a non-Christian teacher sang very melodious Christmas Carols, Santa through his dance and ever glowing smile made the atmosphere very cheerful. The manager of the institute Fr. Denise Borges urged everyone to live the message of Christmas every moment of their life. Fr. James expressed his gratitude to all for making the celebration truly enjoyable.
The staff had arranged a cultural programme on the occasion of Children’s day on 14 November 2019. The teachers decided to make it a memorable day for children. The teachers put up dances on more recent filmy pieces which were attraction of the kids. The entire assembly was on their heels roaring to the tune and cheering their role models in unusual drapery and movements.
Systematic organization was the characteristic feature of the 45th SCIENCE EXHIBITION FOR KOLHAPUR CITY, held at St. Xavier’s High School. It was indeed a festival of Science with colourful canopy over the school quadrangle to provide shade and comfort to the audience and visitors. The classrooms were made available equipped with all requirements to set up 250 exhibits. The Inauguration programme dais was graced with eminent and learned guests such as Mrs. Shoumika A. Mahadik, the Chairperson of Zilla Parishad, Mr. Kiran Lohar, the EO of Zilla Parishad and Mr. Suresh Awari, the the Divisional secretary of SSC Board who threw light on the theme ‘ Science and technology for sustainable development’.
On Friday 8th March 2019 the Women’s Day was celebrated in St. Xavier’s High School, Kolhapur with enthusiasm. The Manager, Principal, Staff, Students and PTA members of the school welcomed the Guest of honor for the day. To mark the Women’s Day three distinguished women Chief Guests namely, Dr. Megha Pansare, Mrs. Seema Patil, Mrs. Aanchal Shanbhag were invited. The NCC girl cadets officially escorted the Chief Guest.
